We will have a Math Test on Fractions & Decimals on Friday, May 9th. I will be sending home a Math Review sheet tomorrow. Students will have homework today and tomorrow to help prepare.
5E and 5B will be attending a Water Conservation Field trip to Stratford Town Hall, Wednesday May 14th. 9:00am – 2:00pm. We will be walking there and back. A bus will be provided if the weather is poor. Students are to bring a packed lunch as we will be at the Hall all day and no lunch is provided! This is a fully interactive day with a break for play and a break for lunch. A note from one of the facilitators suggests “the courses can get a little wet at times (if they aren’t careful)…so make sure they don’t come wearing their best clothes — ‘rough’ clothes day!” A permission form will be sent home tomorrow.
Students are collecting boxes or something else to be used as a base (3 bases/panels) for their Social Studies project on Nubia, for Thursday. All 3 panels should be the same size, or close to. Students in the past have used cereal boxes but teachers have found these to be too weak. In the past, students have used the panels from cardboard boxes, and some others have used blocks of Styrofoam. I will try to collect some boxes this evening but if you happen to have any laying around, feel free to send them along. I have most other materials purchased but students can add what they like.
Stratford Elementary is initiating an on-line ordering and payment program for our lunch program. An information package has been sent home with your child. We are set to begin on Monday, May 12 using the hotlunches.net program. The information package sent home takes you through the steps of how to register and get set up.
Math Help tomorrow 2:30 – 3:15pm
