Ms. Toole was in for me today. Students should have received Math Homework on front-end rounding, a Social Studies interview assignment, and the permission form to Orwell Corner. Below are a few details, including tomorrow’s trip to Province House.
Province House/Founder’s Hall Tour
Tomorrow all of the grade 5 classes will visit Province House/Founder’s Hall from 9am – 12:30. Please ensure that your child is dressed appropriately for the weather as we will spend a good deal of time outside. Also, we will be eating snack and lunch while in Charlottetown so please pack enough food in your child’s lunch kit. For those who have ordered food, it will be waiting for them in our classroom upon their return.
Social Studies Interview Project
Today students were given information regarding their Social Studies project. It involves them interviewing a person (at least 60 years of age) about what their life was like as a 10 year old. Recording the interview (iPod, iPhone, tape recorders 😉 etc.) might help some students. This project is due on or before September 30th. The “reflection” part of this project can be completed in pencil or typed, whichever suits your child.
Information regarding our field trip to Orwell Corner was also sent home. The cost is $7 ($5 charge for Orwell Corner + $2 bus fee). Please return the signed permission form as well as the money on or before September 29.
