This week, students are due to have their homework completed by Thursday, as there is no school on Friday, December 2nd.
Thank you to those of you who sent back your parent evaluation form from student-led conferences. The feedback was overwhelmingly positive and helps affirm our efforts in the classroom. We are looking forward to making them even better, next term.
Also, a big thanks to those of you who are planning on contributing to our Grade 5 Bake Sale on December 7th. If you feel like you could contribute to this important fundraiser, please send in the slip from the bottom of the information sheet that went home on Friday. We are hoping to surpass last year’s total of over $900.00. Thank you!
Word Work is due on Thursday (3 activities). In all the chaos this morning, I forgot to hand back the blue homework scribblers. I am asking that students do 2 activities tomorrow or Wednesday evening. If this seems unreasonable, two activities (one per night) is fine. I’m sure some will do the activities this evening without their scribblers, and that is fine, too!
Math homework is to be completed by Thursday. It is an addition/subtraction handout the students received last week in class and I am asking them to complete what is unfinished. We are working with a new outcome – N9: Relating Fractions to Decimals, moving away from denominators of 10, 100, and 1000. To do this, students need to have a good grasp of multiplication. I am asking you to work with your child on their basic multiplication facts (0-9) at home in the evenings. I will send home a multiplication sheet, tomorrow if that helps.
Our mass blanket exercise has been re-scheduled to Wednesday morning. Those who wish to bring their own blanket can do so again if they wish.
Have a great week!
